Wedding Cakes

An Almond, Orange and Cardamom, flourless Cake, inspired from my Time in Seville. Carrot Cake Cupcakes with Glazed Edible Flowers, and Spicy Gingerbread Bride and Groom.

Back in 2009 a very dear Friend of mine, Jess, asked me if I would make her and Toby’s Wedding Cake. I still remember how honoured I was that she asked me, and I absolutely loved the challenge. It was the start of something. A little reoccurring hobby, that I love: making Cake Stands and Wedding Cakes completely designed and created with the beautiful Bride and Groom in mind.

The Raw Wedding Cake. Lemon and Lavender, and Chocolate, Coconut and Berries Tartlets.

Here I learnt one important Lesson – Raw Cakes are full of Coconut Oil which is a total disaster when it’s a whopping 36 degrees Outside. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

After a few Tears and some quick thinking from my super dooper Friend and Driver that Day, Jule, we obtained a Box full of Dry Ice, and were able to transport the Cake and Pralines in more or less one Piece – thanks Flo for the Ice.
